CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
From  Gerhard Weissgrab, Austria

Dear Sisters and Brothers in the Dharma!
I am very honoured to be part of this important annual celebration and I am very grateful to the National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha as the host.
My home country Austria is in the wonderful situation that the Buddha dharma has been known there since about more than 100 years and Buddhism has been officially recognized by the Austrian Government in 1983 as religion like Christianity for instance is. This will open a great range for Dharma implementation in Austria. All Buddhist traditions, like Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana are located in Austria and they all are collected under the Austrian Buddhist Society.
To develop the Dharma in Austria and Europe with success, we need the support and help of Asian Nuns, Monks und Dharma teachers. We got this support in the past and also in the present and hopefully in the future. This is an important reason to say Thank you very much to all Buddhist countries in Asia - especially to Vietnam in this case, for this event and the possibility for participation. May this conference bring wisdom and peace to participant countries and finally to the whole world.
The Austrian Buddhist Society would like to express their deeply felt wishes on this outstanding occasion. On behalf of all Austrian Buddhists may I take this opportunity to wish the Organizing Committee a successful event leading to the cooperation among Buddhist communities and institutions round the world.
May all beings be happy and well!
May Triple Gem bless you all!
Yours sincerely.in the Dharma,

                                                                         Gerhard Weissgrab
President of the Austrian Buddhist Society
