CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
From Sangha Viento del Sur, Argentina

It’s a great honour to be invited again to attend the United Nations Day of Vesak Celebrations and Conference as Official Delegate from Argentina. It gives me an inmense pleasure to have the opportunity to extend my Congratulatory Message to the distinguished host: the National Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (NVBS)
I want to express my acknowledgement  and deep gratitude for all the efforts, energy, time and good will that the host is devoting for the success of such gathering of the global Buddhist Community. I feel blessed to be part of such community.
The Maha Sangha gathering each year in the context of the United Nations actualizes the spirit of the great Bodhisattva of Compassion with her 10.000 eyes and arms, listening and embracing the cries and sufferings of the world.
In this ocassion it’s a great initiative to focus our collaborative efforts in the achievement of UN Millennium Goals. I appreciate it a lot. The challenges we face as humanity are huge; efforts and coordinated actions must be also big in proportion. It’s a blessing to share the Dharma in these times when the poisons of greed, hate and ignorance seem to be so powerful and pervasive. These poisons are the roots of the situation that we face today like violence, poverty, hunger and the degradation of the environment.
To conmemorate the Birth, Enlightenment and Passing Away of Lord Buddha is also to celebrate our lives as people with all the potential to awake and work for alleviate suffering in the world. In Vesak’s gatherings we strengthen our bonds and find inspiration for our tasks as followers of the Buddha Way .
Specially for us, as Buddhists belonging to new lands for the Buddha Dharma, it’s a great ocassion to get a source of learning and inspiration and bring to our communities the ancient flavour of the Path. At the same time offering all the new and young willingness to embrace it fully, from a region that recently has been declared as Peace Zone for The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
May all the effort put forth by the organization of this event contribute to liberate all beings.
May the light of the Dharma emanating from this beacon in Vietnam illuminate the three times and the ten directions.
May the true Dharma continue.
Bowing with palms together,
