CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
From Mr Jorge Rondon Uzcategui, Venezuela

Very Venerable:
I am pleased to address you in the opportunity to convey, on behalf of the People and the Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and on my own behalf, the warmest congratulations on the occasion of the thrice-sacred day of Vesak,- established  by the United Nation’s General Assembly in 1999  to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and passing away of Master Buddha Gautama-, and to wish you the maximum successful in the deliberations of the XI International Buddhist Conference to be held in Vietnam for the second time .
The enlightenments of Master Buddha Gautama about tolerance, compassion and service to humankind still remain valid and widely coincide with the guidelines of the Bolivarian Revolution, which is defined as humanist, nationalist, socialist and internationalist, to achieve what Commander Supreme Hugo Chavez proposed: “the utmost happiness, the utmost social security and utmost political stability to our people.”
The Constitutional President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, in full compliance with the National Constitution, respects all beliefs of the Venezuelan people and ensures broad religious tolerance. In Venezuela, there is a wide range of religions; notable among them is the Buddhist Community. For these reasons, Venezuela recognizes, with special significance and enthusiasm, the transcendental Buddhist contribution to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals of the UN.
In this regard, I recall President Hugo Chavez, died on 5 March 2013, who made important contributions and reflections on the peaceful coexistence of human been and the preservation of the planet; as per he expressed in the General Assembly of United Nations, April 22, 2010: “If we want to change the climate, we have to change the system. Capitalism is the curse to human been, because it leads us to the abyss. “
I reiterate all my best wishes for the successful to the Conference Day UN Vesak 2014, hopping its topics would provide wisdoms guide to man in the conception of a model that promotes social justice, peace and the common good.
I avails myself of the opportunity to renew to the Very Venerable the assurances of my highest esteem and consideration
Jorge Rondón Uzcátegui
